the social (re)definition; earn a living, support a family - the American dream is out-of-sight for most; home investments, retirement savings - the dream has become a nightmare -- time bind - husband/wife two careers vs. home life, family -- education = academic conveyor belt to industry - understand how things connect - break down into manageable sizes to understand - consider the whole - confidence motivation vs. past/future failures - develop the whole (believe, think) - success motivation, self-confidence - approach - desire to succeed - different levels of academic foundation - community approach - linking parents/teachers - "teams" concept - ownership performance - people learn in different ways - success support, incentive, learning all the time, doing - connections with the future - active learning - apply yourself - craftsmanship (work) quality - demand 100% excellence - pride, purpose - realize - put into practise - performance.
